Trey Briggs, Owner and Coach for Technique Swim Center

Owner & USA Swim Coach Trey Briggs

Coach Trey Briggs began swimming competitively at age 7. Early on, he concentrated on the conditioning/yardage side of training. He had many successes before the age of 13, including swim records and YMCA Zone Qualifications.

But, between ages 13 and 15, he underwent two shoulder surgeries to repair torn labrums from worn-out shoulders. After recovering from his surgeries, Trey spent endless hours researching the latest developments in swim technique, so he could put technique first in his training. Through his change in approach, private lessons with top coaches from around the country and utilizing the technology of endless pools and underwater camera feedback, Trey became one of the top swimmers in the area again during his remaining two years as an 18 and under age-group swimmer.

Trey experienced a dramatic improvement in a short period of time with his technique centered training. He swam for the nationally ranked OSU Club Team his freshman year in Columbus, Ohio, and then he began USA Swim Coaching wanting to share what he had learned with the next generation of swimmers.

In order to bring his training philosophy to others, Trey founded the Technique Swim Center.

Coach Trey Briggs also specializes in Pediatric Self-Rescue Water Skills for children ages 6 months and crawling to age 8.  He is a Certified Pediatric Swim Instructor and is excited to bring PediaH2O to the Lima area.
